Pillar Point Harbor
Pillar Point Harbor shelters the Coastside's fishing fleet. Fishermen sell crab and fish straight off their boats, and just past the breakwater lies Mavericks.

Discover Pillar Point Harbor
In the 1800s James Denniston built a deep-water landing at Pillar Point, and for years it shipped lumber and produce to San Francisco. The coast was hard on ships: the Rydal Hall was wrecked near the point in 1876, and its anchor is on display by the harbor today. (Wikipedia)
The Army Corps of Engineers built the outer breakwater between 1959 and 1961, extended it in 1967, and added the inner breakwater in 1982. (Wikipedia)
Today fishermen sell crab and fish straight off their boats at the harbor. (Wikipedia) Every December the Lighted Boat Festival lights up the fleet. (Visit Half Moon Bay)
