Discover The Beaches

Half Moon Bay State Beach was established in 1956 and runs for four miles: Roosevelt, Dunes, Venice and Francis beaches. It is known for its colony of rare western snowy plovers. (Wikipedia)

During Prohibition, Francis Beach was a favourite landing spot for rumrunners bringing whisky ashore in the fog. (Wikipedia)

September is the town's warmest month; January is its coolest. Snow flurries have been seen only three times on record: in 1972, 1976 and 2023. (Wikipedia)
